I really enjoyed the Russ Clune Enormocast episode, not least of all because it covered some climbing history in the northeast. Which led me to wonder, in the hypothetical scenario where Chris Kalous (the host) traveled to the Northeast, who would you most want him to interview? I'd like to hear one with R Gold, since he always has a good story or two to share here on MP.

Off the top of my head, Henry Barber, Al Rubin, Doug Madera, Paul Ross (although he may be back in England), John Bouchard, Ken Nichols.

There is one with Henry Barber (it's great). Al Rubin would be fantastic, he seems to have written every guidebook history.

Ken N would be really interesting. Probably the NE most polarizing figure. Jay Knower and Pat Goodman are some cool younger crushers.

Rich Romano's got a ton of great stories, Brett/Josh Lowell from Big Up, Ashima, any of the Vulgarians (Dick Williams, McCarthy...), and a Joe Szott (RIP) sit down with Kalous would have been awesome...

Definitely Ed Webster. I've met him several times and he's really cool.

Ed Webster is the ideal Enormo guest. He spoke at Colorado College for over 3 hours in 2009 (he is an alumnus, whoop whoop!) and there was not a dull moment in the entire presentation. He talked mostly about rock climbing (as opposed to mountaineering), which I personally appreciated. His own stories, and those of his contemporaries, could fill about 15 episodes alone.

Just because someone is strong doesn't mean they're interesting, look at me for example. I'd want to hear from Jerry Handren, Ward Smith, Pete Kamitses, or Freddie Wilkinson. Though prolific further south, would love to hear from Jeff Gruenberg or Doug Reed, both have ceased rock climbing.

Seriously, if he could get Art Gran on the show I bet it would be amazing.

We could get into some deep cultural stuff :)
