If you haven't purchased a device yet, I have a Camp Matik I don't use (only used a handful of times) for sale cheap.

How much?

Raise your hand if you really think you can change Joe's mind about grigris.

What type of job are you doing where you're using a GriGri? The GriGri is recreational use only and not approved by OSHA, ANSI, SPRAT, IRATA or any of the arborist organizations for any type of commercial, industrial or arborist work.

Don't worry I'm not that stupid. It was just a job belaying non climbers for a party. The most sketchy part about it was the (inflatable?)climbing wall. Thanks for the confirming though since I know that's a common misuse of the Grigri.

Both hands down! :)

I was replying more for the sake of other readers who are reading the thread. I know I was previously in Joe's camp, partially from opinions posted on here.

I also would like to clear up some possible confusion about this thread. I asked it in the interest of knowing which assisted belay devices were best suited for what type of climbing/climbers and what types of rope.
