WC new friend (extendable sling) v. c4

Saw the new friends at bentgate and damn do they look good. I'm looking to triple up on 0.75-3 in time and was wondering if anyone has any opinions on the new friend. I already have C4's and they are great, but the new friend seems like an improvement from C4. The only downside that I see is it is rated 10/12kn v. 14kn (c4).

Thanks

They are exactly that, an improved C4, the strength rating isn't a downside 10kn is plenty even for the worst of falls, the extendable sling isn't very long so don't think u will need to carry less draws, good for extending it over the lip on a crack though so that's always a bonus. They are either better or as good in every aspect.

Though with that being said, why not just get totems up to a size 2 and a single wild country size 3?

I have the entire totem basic set (hybrids too) up to the red size. Do the regular totem cam sizes correspond pretty closely with the C4/WC Friends?

For totems, I've only used the .5, .75, and #2 sized totems and the #2 is a bit off in range and a bit floppy. The .5 and .75 were great, and practically identical in range. My suggestion would be to get the totems up to .75 or #1 if you can afford them and get the new friends or new dragons for #2,3,4.

I guess one thing I have not educated myself on is the range of these new wild country friends.  The old Wild country used to fit the in between sizes at indian creek really well.  Will these do the same or are they more in line with the BD range?

Darren,

They have resized these new ones to be almost the exact same as BD, (1-2mm off).  I have used them extensively for the past 2 years and love them! I've converted a few friends along the way as well.  They are great!

Regular Totems correspond basically exactly to c4/WC cams. I have bought from blue to green and i wish I had more, there is definite value in standard dual axle cams (inwardly flaring cracks and tipped out cams) but for 99% there's no reason to not be using totems.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
