Call the Forest service out there. I was there this past weekend and EVERYTHING was closed. They even had the freaking campground areas closed (paved) until they opened them up on Friday morning.
I asked when they would open the rest (again, call) and they didn't know. Said it was an especially rainy/wet year.
I was there Tuesday and the campground was open but Vedauwoo road was still closed thanks to a group of assholes who broke through the gate and tore the roads up. They said it'd be open yesterday but we knew how well govt agencies stick to schedules.
What a bunch of boneheads. I imagine they are the same mouth breathers that insist on scattering broken bottles everywhere. Some days I think that it is some kind of misunderstood Wyoming recycling program. At one camp site I cleaned over 25 lbs of glass, nails and shells.
Do me a favor and post here what is open after your trip. I'm heading up on Wednesday night for a 4 day weekend (next weekend).
wow. 700 and 707 are still closed. Its nearly freakin' June! They said they don't have plans to open either anytime soon because they have a washed out road section and haven't even begun to fix it.
was just in the voo the past 4 days. 707 and 700 are now (finally) open. Don't know about 705. But nearly everything is open, I imagine it is dependent on the sections of road.
