Do it. The vast majority of the people climbing at GF have never led a trad route in their life and I think that's one of the main reason this "doesn't take gear" tale has gotten as big as it has. If you need a partner, let me know. I live in Columbia so not too far a drive. If you need a climbing partner anywhere in the area let me know, actually. It's getting harder and harder for me to drag my wife out anywhere. Have my own rack.
