Here is a quick "report" of ice conditions at Coldstream Canyon. This was our first time there, and due to the snow condition (read more about this at the end of this post) we actually didn't get to climb. So, I will let you judge of the conditions by yourselves by uploading a few pictures. It didn't looks like much ice to me, but I guess if you are into mix climbing it might be okay...?
So, here is how it looked on March 13th 2016:
Approach conditions: Pretty much horrendous. There is tones of snow in Tahoe right now. It took us 7 hours to get to the bottom of the climb due to the deep snow powder (we were snowshoeing). Overnight, the snow storm dumped 2-3 feet of snow. Because of this, we didn't bother getting to the ice, we packed up and left, and pretty spend our all day walking back to the car (7-8 hours). So, you are warned ;)
