I'll be up in the Sierras most Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays starting the new year through early March: 1/8 - 1/10, 1/29 - 1/31, 2/12 - 2/15, 2/19 - 2/21, 2/26 - 2/28, and 3/4 - 3/6. Hoping to connect with some folks either on skis or on the rock.
Will be driving up from the Bay Area and can offer a ride, too. I've got a regular cab 4WD Tacoma.
I'm fairly new to backcountry skiing but am in pretty good shape, have AIARE L1 training, the necessary ski and avalanche rescue gear, and lots of excitement. If you're into digging snow pits or are open to being a backcountry skiing/snow assessment mentor, let me know :)
Alternatively, I also love the vertical pursuits--climbing, mountaineering, etc. I've got about a year of climbing experience. Much of this experience comes from institutional settings like working for Outward Bound, so I like to think that I'm a reasonably safe climber. Have a single rack and a 70m rope. Trad, multi-pitch, or alpine routes would be awesome, but again, I'm open for it all!
I tell myself that I make up in go-getting what I may lack in technical experience. Though I've got lots of general backcountry experience and emergency medical training (Wilderness EMT). Shoot me a text at five zero five four zero one four zero seven three.
Happy New Year!
