Don't buy from 123Mountain.com

I saw about a month ago on their site where they said they had the DMM Grip belay device in stock. I contacted them about it, and they still insisted they had it in stock. I was weary and didn't order it because I knew it hadn't hit the market yet. |

I just called and asked to speak to the owner. This foreign guy started screaming at me that I was a stupid entitled American POS. Then he told me to go fack myself and hung up. All I said was "Can I speak to the owner?" Classic. I think im gonna call back later. To the people who got screwed call this clown (copper location was the only one who answered their phone) Warning: This guy is a nut. |

I live in Lakewood so I stopped by 123Mountain's retail store once. It's tiny, far smaller than their massive online selection would suggest. They won't even let you into the store at all without buying a membership, which is a major WTF. |

Jim Turner wrote:Here's their return policy. No returns on Sale items? Huh 100% SATISFACTION UNLIMITED RETURN POLICY Not stoked on your gear? Looking to return it? No problem, we have an Unlimited Return Policy as long as item(s) is/are in UNUSED CONDITION. We try to guarantee complete satisfaction with unlimited lifetime returns. If at any time - now, next month, in 30 years - you're not 100% satisfied, send your gear back for a refund. No questions asked. Check out Return Policy Page. No returns on sale / promotional / discounted items, though. Wait. "Unlimited return policy"? But as long as the item is unused???? After "...next month or in 30 years"??? |

we should email them the link to this thread in hopes that they would chime in for some clarification and explanation. Or maybe for just some entertainment according to C.Holts post. |

What they have is really good SEO, because they import entire manufacturers' product catalogs into their store database, but they don't stock any of it. I'm surprised you got anything at all. Avoid like the plague. They probably have to do this to keep the line of unsatisfied customers from going in and raising hell. |

Be very careful of these people. They have been running these scams all over the world for a long time. |

Brandon Alke wrote:Mountain Gear SAME BS... Got my panties in a knot cause of some thread on here saying that Totem cams were 25% off. I'd like to hear from the guys on that thread if they have got their orders.. Didn't bother to check the site feedback before ordering. Well I haven't got them or an email, it's been a month, they've hung up on me when I've called twice. Saying my phone was scratchy. My experience with Mountain Gear has been good. I think they are a reputable company. Sorry you've had a bad experience. |

A friend of mine and I both got our Totem cams with no trouble through the recent sale at Mt. Gear. It would be a mistake to lump them together with 123 Mt. |

Never had a problem with Mountain Gear. |

Mountain Gear has always treated me right, I've purchased from them many times. Their return policy isn't quite as good as REI, so I typically go to REI for harnesses and shoes (I'm very picky about those!) but use Mountain Gear for everything else. |

Can't even compare Mtn Gear to 123Mountain |

My totem cams arrived from Mountain Gear promptly and hassle free. |

Mountain gear is great. They are small, but they try hard. |
