Yes Matt, that would be N Kaibab, the standard route to the NRim. |

We're still too busy climbing in T-shirts to think about ice climbing down here in tucson. Actually, I did have to wear a long sleeve shirt the other day.... |

I believe it. |

I just started ice climbing. Spent a week climbing everyday in Ouray but that's the only experience I have as of now. If anything comes in and someone needs a partner I would be willing to travel from Tucson to get back on some ice. Even if it's thin and small. |

I am desperately looking for ice here in Southern AZ. Slaton, I believe we met at the ice fest in Ouray 2 weeks ago. Send me a message and us southern boys will get some more ice! As this huge storm blows in this week I will keep looking and post back about conditions. My bets are the stain and boneyard (mount lemmon) and have seen some stuff on the rincons too. Will let yall know ASAP! |

Hey Slaton, you find anything? I'm looking to get on some ice this weekend too |

Hey guys, |

I've been keeping an eye on it the last few years. I think there is some decent potential in Oak Creek Canyon area, but it takes very specific conditions to properly form up. There are a few semi regular mini flows near Flagstaff but of these I haven't seen anything worth driving up for. |

The best tool to have for Arizona ice climbing--- is a fast car. (Roughly paraphrasing Galen Rowell.) |

I live about 5 miles from Carr Canyon. Yes it does freeze up from time to time, however it is unstable and doesn't last long. I went up a few years ago and as I was getting gear out of my truck it came crashing down. I would advise doing it with a top belay and NOT place any screws in it, this way if it "goes" you won't get dragged down. I would also consider getting lowered in from the top. |

Hi Ivan, |

There is definitely ice climbing in my lemmon. check out squeezing the lemmon 1 and 2. they have the books at summit hut. |

Sooooo there's snow in Tucson. I was thinking of maybe heading up to Mt Lemmon in search of ice this weekend. Don't suppose anyone is keen (or in the area for that matter) for an adventure? |

If you really want to get square with the tribe on Rez climbs, get in touch with Jayson Wilson with the Dine Rock Climbers Coalition ... he manages a FB page by that name ... |

Was this the fall in Paradise Forks? |

Nice! Some friends and I TR'd some thin stuff on Mt Lemmon. Pretty sure it's gone now though. This was the inaugural ice fest for the Desert Ice Climbing Club (DICC) :) |
