Partner needed for Gannett. My fitness is excellent but I have limited experience traveling over ice and snow. Plan to leave from Green River Lakes around 10 Aug.

I soloed Gannett two years ago. 4 days and three nights round trip, great adventure and beautiful backcountry! Best of luck.

Wells Creek and Tourist Creek are 2 drainages that head toward the western side of Gannett a little past Square Top. The trip reports I've seen of people taking these drainages are from very fit, very fast, ultra-runner/mountaineering types like Buzz Burrell, Peter Bakwin, and Anton Krupicka looking to do Gannett car-to-car and going very light. Having tried the Wells Creek approach many years ago I would not carry a full pack up there again and I'm not likely to ever try it car-to-car, or kid myself that I'll ever be in good enough shape to have much confidence that it would be a successful attempt.

Here are some links about some car-to-car trips on Gannett:

I guess the question is why are you doing Gannett from Green River Lakes as apposed to one of the more traditional trail heads like Elk Heart Park? The 17 or so miles into Titcomb from Elk Heart is nice although crowded and certainly doable in a day.

Thanks Ralph.
I was for sure confused in thinking the ""standard" Gannett approach from the west was from Green River Lakes. I looked up the Elkhart park trlhd and route, and that is definitely the one I want. Now to find someone (a good samaritan no doubt) who wants to do that route and would be willing to help me over the bergschrund.

Did you have any luck finding a partner for Gannett? I'm in same boat as you for 2016 I think. Been into Titcomb and up Fremont Pk at couple times, but my mountaineering experience is pretty much zero.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
