I was thinking about throwing all my stuff into carry-on on a plane and buying a rope in Potrero instead of bringing one from here (Less risk of late/lost baggage and I need a new 70 anyway). What are the chances of Posada's gearshop being open on Sunday at noon? I've tried contacting Posada via email and their website, but nobody got back to me in 2 days...
I think it might be more of an issue of them having a rope rather than being open... it seems like they only have odds and ends there like a few draws, carabiners, and belay devices. Its an office with t-shirts and postcards.
You can carry a rope as your personal item and everything else as your carry on. it's what I did last year visiting potrero. I think they might have made me gate check my bag on the tiny plane from texas-monterrey, but it was waiting for me right when I got off the plane (might be confusing this flight with puerto rico though).
when does that guy pack up for the season? He wasn't there last year in mid march when we were there and we were all very disappointed at our inability to refresh in the canyon!
