Any Valle Cochamo vets out there that can speak of how useful a portaledge would be? I'm trying to decide if I should bring it, which would mean carrying it around 3 months of climbing in Colombia and transport down south the Valle Cochamo. Do most routes that are going to take me multiple days have a ledge I can sleep on. I should be able to get through 18 pitches or so in a day, depending on difficulty of course.
Hey man, I would say deffinetely not necessary at all to bring a portal edge. The real long routes are at most 20 pitches. Their are a few new routes out a little further from the valley that are more like 30 pitch but again they have natural ledges a lot. Pm me if you need any more info. I would say leave it at home. Hit up cooper varney, Chris kalman, or Nate Conroy if you want logistics beyond my knowledge their the vets.
