The jacket purports to be 100g Primaloft 1 throughout and weigh in at less than 16 oz with a 20D shell. Is there something I'm missing? Seems to be coming in a lot lighter than comparable 100g type pieces (e.g. Arcteryx Atom SV).
There's reviews out there on earlier iterations. is the latest one different somehow? Looks like a good deal esp with a cyber Monday coupon. But they aren't stocked near me so I can't size one up. Any recent buyers have feedback?
I have an older igniter and it is closer to 30oz. Its pretty "meh" overall. It was cheap though.
Maybe FA has gotten better but their stuff looked great on paper but was poorly thought out. At one point I had one of everything they made and now all I have is the igniter and a fleece. I bought most of it for 70%-80% off and still felt like it wasn't worth the money. YMMV.
I haven't weighed mine, but I've carried it on almost every outing from alpine rock to Red Rocks to BC skiing for the last 3 years. It now sports neato duct tape in a few spots (my fault: ice axe spike through jacket, chimneying, etc), but continues to be my go-to puffy layer for everything except altitude. The only feature it's missing is a water bottle pocket, otherwise it's damn near perfect.
