climbing pants

I am in the market for climbing pants. I was wonder what are the best pants. I want zip offs, rip stop and them to last on the sand stone. |

|
Prana Stretch Zion -- or another style that uses the "stretch zion" fabric. Best pants I've worn, casually, climbing, at work. A bit pricey, but well worth it for the 3 pairs I have.

stretch zion comes in 'zip-off' (convertible): prana.com/stretch-zion-conv… |

+1 for the prana stretch Zion. Wear them constantly for the last year and a half and they still look basically new. Super comfortable also |

I love the Prana's myself but if you want to look like the cool kids then wear jeans, no shirt and a beanie no matter the temp. |

Anyone still climb in manpris? |

I like the Zions too, not real keen on the zip off pants, as when they are still pants the zipper section always seems to end up getting abused or gives discomfort in wearing while climbing. just get some dam shorts and change when needed. |

+1 on the Zion pants. I guide climbing and canyons in them in Zion, and they've held up quite well. Most other pants tend to have the ass or crotch rip out, but they've stood up well. |

all pants are climbing pants |

+1 again for these pants Sys Ex wrote:Prana Stretch Zion -- or another style that uses the "stretch zion" fabric. Best pants I've worn, casually, climbing, at work. All of my pairs have held up extremely well in the last couple years with little to no sign of wear n tear. |

Like everyone else said Prana Stretch Zion's. Pretty much the best pants on the market. They will do fine on sandstone. |

Except the plastic buckle sucks. The old metal one held in place much better. |

Will be my new skiing and ice climbing pants for sure....inner cuff comes tight so I won't even need gaiters in most weather. |

Mountain Hardware Piero pants if I'm on a big route. Skater jeans for everything else. |
|
|
to bad they don't make the Black Diamond zRock Pants (tho doesn't have a zip off leg). Have climbed in my pair for years and are completely bomber. Myself I don't wear my jeans climbing since when I can find jeans that are 28 or 29 waist with a 34 inseam, I REALLY don't want to trash them climbing. |
|
|
Check the Kuhl Liberator Convertible pant too. |
|
|
I have 3 pairs of MH Piero pants. They take lots of abuse and have held up well for me since I got them~3 years ago. They are probably twice the thickness of the Stetch Zion pants. |

If you got money buy some fancy pants but they won't last. |
