Shelf Road effected by fires?

Anyone have any idea if the royal gorge, or black forest fires will effect my weekend romp at shelf this weekend?

if nothing else, it will be intolerably smokey...

Smoke issues will be wind dependent. If they are blowing from the south like they have been lately, this may make it pretty hazy at Shelf.

It could end up closing highways possibly if it gets bad enough, but I think you should be fine. It's just going to be hot more than likely. I'm in Colorado Springs for instance and can't smell smoke from either the Black Forest fire or Royal Gorge at the moment.

(One more thing, it's "affected.") :-)

I was thinking of climbing a few routes in Eleven Mile this weekend. Does anybody know if that area is affected? Thanks in advance!

Last year was the year forest fires encroached on Elevenmile Canyon, but you can barely see any evidence of that fire now from the road.

so there is no effect to elevenmile
