Is there really a BBQ at GWI??

It's true--brought to you EXCLUSIVELY by NO STAR TUESDAY, the 3rd Annual Superbowl-GWI-BBQ. No glass please, only 3.2 beer in cans; also, please be mindful of recent access developments having mainly to do with new parking restrictions near the power plant. Carpooling from the Park and Ride at the mouth of LCC might be a fine idea... See you there!

I heard there is some gear swapping that usually happens?

1st pitch of backoff has sheared off and there is a fracture on squash head at the start of the second pitch that runs about 3/4 of the way across the flow. Heads up. Also getting to the anchors at the top was a little sketchy with running water and the rock slab

Whats the turn out like for the bbq? The ledge ain`t that big. A couple new comers (to the event) are thinking of going.

It makes for a friendly party. Wall to wall dude sandwich with a couple of other dudes girlfriends thrown in as a condiment.

Pack your mountain axe with a adze and just cut yourself a ledge.

This GWI superbowl bbq sounds fun! Is it open to all the ice community? Id like to meet new friends into this awesome sport!

Any advice for a 4 day ice climbing trip this coming weekend? Coming from 4 corners area and looking for grade 4-6 routes within a couple hours of salt lake. Flying into salt lake. Thanks!

Wow, Um I know its a little farther, but with that kind of time frame, I could get into a lot of trouble in the Wind River Range. More ice than,,,, a place with a lot of ice. Take a SPOT or PLB because you would have the place to yourself. Same goes for the Sawtooth range. The first to pioneer the area didn't have guide books.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
