BD Neutrinos - Does anyone ACTUALLY do this?

It's ok. Really, the color of the gear you use don't matter none. It's how well you use it. Am I right? It's a free country. I accept biners of all colors and creeds.

Wild Country was the first to do this. All my gray biners exactly match my gray friends.

All else being equal, I like to color code my biners.

I would also like to color code my wardrobe.

I've never gotten around to either.

this:

I got some on sale one time and I have to say rarely do I pay attention to the color of biner...all I look for in a racking biner is an affordable light wiregate...the idea makes sense, but I tend to look at the cam and pay very little attention to the color of biner...I guess it just depends on what you look at

Color coding reduces the pump for sure. Next time you climb, think about the motions you make to ID a cam on your harness. Usually it involves flopping them up into sight with your hand, or at least flipping through the runners, then grabbing the one you want. This definitely adds a few seconds to the gear placement process. With colored biners you just grab and go...I was skeptical at first but they were the same price on my BD proform so I bought some and it really does make a difference for me.

Dude, let it go. Anyone over the age of 11 can find the same pictures on google.

Dude! How bout mine?

Just when I think I ask silly questions, one like this comes along.

I bought the color coded pack because it was cheap. I then threw it on whatever gear needed a biner. I tried to match but having a metolious, friends and BD rack that fd not work so well. I just climbed with a guy that cussed out my rack over and over while he was leading. Said it was confusing, guess the color coding don't work. Bummer.

oh man..thought I had it figured out, but what if I eventually wear off the anodized color? What then?

I dont always rack my cams with matching biners, but when I do people KNOW I am The Journeyman....

I do match them. I didnt at first and then started doing it later. I find it useful sometimes.

kBobby wrote:My cams have color-matching carabiners. Some are neutrinos, some are other brands. I started doing so before BD came out with the colored neutrino packs. It works for me. I don't give a shit if anyone else does so or doesn't do so. I also don't give a a shit if anyone thinks that I am somehow "doing it wrong" because I rack this way. What's with all the hate here lately?

oh bobby, what a delicate, sensitive, little flower you are. while i don't think colored biners are really necessary, i don't care if anyone uses them, likes them, or lives by them - to each his own. the phrase "your doing it all wrong" is a joke, thanks for taking the bait.

on a side note, i spent the last few days in the COR. I had a red biner on my blue #3; phew! damn thing saved my life! (another joke for the uptight ones)

carry on forum-erz. this stuff is serious!

I scoffed then I tried it. I liked it and now I do it.

I must be the only one that doesn't like neutrinos.

I second your motion that neutrinos are annoying, irrespective of color.

Sounds like you are coming out of the closet?

Thanks to this thread I've now bought and racked my stoppers individually with color matched biners. Because we all place nuts too right?

rogerbenton · · Unknown Hometown · Joined Sep 2011 · Points: 210

the better question is-

has anyone tried using color matched biners on their cams and not liked it?

anyone gone back to one common color?

anyone?

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
