Anyone know if this dude is still around? I sent him a pair of shoes without contacting him first, which turned out to be a bad idea. I saw that the shoes got delivered, but weeks went by and I never heard from him. I tried emailing, calling, and even facebooking the guy and have heard nothing.

I think this is also the guy who has been working on a DL guide for about 8 years now, saw him at Old Sandstone last fall. I don't think that will ever get done though. Here's the phone # on the FBook page: 1 (708) 505-2008

You ever get your shoes back?

Nope :/ Tried his MP, also tried the FB number.

WTF? That fucker. Check for the "Pro Deal Resoles" thread for a similar experience.

I know! The dude just up and vanished like a fart in the wind. It's Rock 'n' Resole from now on.

Hey Chris, The address is in Oak Park. You should just go knock on his door!

I just might! Though my guess is he's in Mexico, on a crack binge, or both.

Just a heads up to everyone, DO NOT send shoes to Midwest Resoles

Sent three pair and never heard back. No response to calls, emails, facebook, etc. Wish he would've just updated his webpage or something, now i'm out three pairs of shoes...

What's the address? Is it a house? Is someone accepting the pkg but never doing anything with it? Lets get someone over there to check it out. I got friends in Chicago.

I'm no longer in Chicago, but yeah, someone should go over there and see what's up. In my case the package was marked as delivered by UPS. Devin do you know if it got delivered? I wonder if you can file an insurance claim. The address:

165 N. Kenilworth, 3C
Oak Park, IL 60301

Yeah, we sent it USPS priority and received notification of its delivery. I don't think I paid for insurance however...

Yeah, I am not sure who is receiving these. If anyone is the Chicago area is willing to help investigate I'd pay for the round of beers! As of now I'm out two sets of Anasazis slippers and the blue team shoe :(

I posted on my Fbook for someone to stop by. I suggest doing the same.

Just heard from Chris at Midwest Resoles. His response is quoted below:

"Very sorry for the delay. I recently moved and the guy who maintains my website never updated my address. I just got them when I went over to my condo to do some maintenance before I sell it. I've spent the last six hours working on your shoes, and should have them on their way back to you by Tuesday at the absolute latest. Again, very sorry for not having them back to you sooner.

Chris"

Might be in luck!

I have some shoes in need of resole if he updates the address (and accepts drop-off so I can avoid shipping cost)...

Septic, how about your shoes?

After reading this thread, I am surprised that anyone would even consider sending their shoes to him!

I heard back and he said he never received them.

Hey all,

I sent a pair of shoes into the guy about a month and a half ago. I have also had trouble getting ahold of him. I only got one email back, saying that the shoes should be on the way back to me "this" weekend, which was about 2 weeks ago.

What a bummer man. Anyone have any updates on his address or if they got their shoes back. Advice?

Thanks

Also has anyone filed a police / mail fraud report? Its useless for me to wait too much longer because i need shoes to climb so getting a old pair back in 5 months wont help me out too much.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
