I went there too. The wall is lyons sandstone blocks laid ashlar style, vertically, with pockets, a finger crack & hand crack, a full height chimney feature, and micro features. Of course it's in the basketball court like most rec centers, but the nice people @ the F desk let me in to look at it up close. It looks like about 35' wide; 5 ropes. No adjustable holds. Bouldering is allowed up to a couple of moves high. No, I don't work there, just reportin'. Maybe I'll see you tomorrow, Jeremy...

Best practice there is in winter. No snow, no cold, no nasty approaches, no ice in the cracks. Especially if cracks are new to you, this place will teach you how they're done. And you cannot bitch about the price. You can make either crack about 5.7, or you can make them much harder. They don't flare, but each one encompasses several different sizes (finger to hand, hand to fist). Liebacking either one gives plenty of exercise. The chimney is dead easy to stem, but try confining yourself to just one of the inside walls, or to the skinny little strip on the right outside of the chimney. Not crack climbing, more like thin face stuff. And when you're through there, go for a swim or a steam. No extra charge, last time I was there.

Brought my rack here and got some much needed practice with finger locks and thin crack foot technique. I also heard that Ed Webster built the wall. Definitly a good place to hone in on crack skills. This wall definitly challenges you more so than your average wall.

This wall is fun, versatile, and definitely good for a decent workout (especially during these cold months). There are routes from 5.4 to 5.12+ and yes the wall was designed by Ed Webster. It's a unique wall since it is made out of stone and all of the holds are real rock.
