Hey guys does anybody know of a job opening in the Ft. Collins/Boulder/Longmont/Loveland area? I live in St. Louis right now and want to move out in early June. I went to school for teaching but it takes over a year to get certified by the CDE and jobs are terrible anyways for education. I would love to have a job outdoors or anything really. Does anybody know a carpenter or something like that of sorts where I could just give them a helping hand, haul heavy stuff around or whatever. Anything would help guys, I have no connections out there. I want to get out west more than anything away from this craphole in the midwest. Thanks in advance guys!

Check out Elite Telecommunications. They do cable/internet/phone installation contracting for Comcast from Ft. Collins to Longmont and just about everywhere in between. During the spring/summer months they hire on a LOT of people to handle the surge in cable service installations (people moving, etc.) Workdays are Friday - Tuesday, and it's pretty enjoyable. You get to be outside a lot and work with people. The phone number is 970-266-0117.

Put in your application to CDE right now. It seems to take about 3 months for them to process a license, which is absolutely ridiculous. from what I have recently heard, they are actually ahead on the applications right now. Also, depending on what you teach, you might actually have a good chance of getting a job.

Definitely put in your application w/CDE now. 6-12 weeks is their usual time frame, not a year. Also, don't count out teaching jobs in that area. Most districts start posting jobs in Feb and continue until after the school year starts. Your chances depend largely on what subject you teach. Good Luck!!

Whatever you do don't get a teaching job in Douglas County. Americans for prosperity (the Koch Brothers) are bankrolling the destruction of our public school system.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
