South Mineral road will be snowed in and necessitate a long hike, ski or snowmobile ride. Eureka should be fat right now, just be aware of avalanche danger as usual- avalanche.state.co.us/acc/a…;accfm=off It has been cold. Have fun.

Any Ice in CCC?

Is it worth climbing there tomorrow?

With the new snow, and cold nights it should be in good shape. We were up there this last weekend. Coors Lite is dripping and very fragile on the upper pitch, but worth climbing. Just please, hook and tap lightly where possible.

Colorado ice conditions: REALLY phat on my front side walk, with death fangs hanging from the gutters.

Clear Creek is In, but seeing a lot of traffic. The 1st pitch of Mickey's is a dinner plate special. Tread lightly.

Jamie,
Skylight is for whatever people, and guides, want to use it for. Get there early or go climb something else. There's a lot of other lines up Camp Bird Mine Road. Oh and calm down , your regionalism is obnoxious. No one gives a sh*t where you're from.

Climbed at the Lake City Ice Park yesterday. All climbs are In, but some areas are thinner than usual for this time of year.

The right side is much fatter than the center or left areas. Make sure to bring plenty of Static rope (60m would not be too much!) and perhaps 70 ropes for top-roping on the right side.

Anyone been to Gandolf's Beard in the Black Canyon recently?
Hoping to head out tomorrow unless someone has info advising against it.
Thanks

Glenwood Canyon Hidden Falls on January 6th. We climbed the right/middle and some of the ice wasn't very solid, especially at about 200 feet, where we rappelled off. It was mostly layers of snow and thin ice up there.

For them what care.............

The First Flatiron has enough ice on it for it to be climbed. It's been in condition now for a few days and getting climbed each day. If you hurry there will probably be enough ice to climb it tomorrow.

We did it today and didn't need any screws . Bring a handful of cams and a few medium nuts. Slings for slinging trees. Four pitches. Last pitch is rock all the rest are mixed.

Work day at Vail, Desi Logging Effort:
Drug along the Husky and Bosch, needless to say it was a fun day on the local crag with powertools. We cut out much of the tree top on the Fang apporach, then Brad and I removed the sketchy-looking spruce that hung out over the Desi and all the willows that got mashed down (they will grow back). Brad scored the FA on the 65' tree that augered into the snow at the base of the Desi, fun shit. Sure someone will post pics.
After chain sawin', we went drilling over at the Staircase and put up a new drytool line left of the Staircase, Frisco Kid: M6+ 65'. Was a good day out, enjoy the new line!

Anybody climb these lines? They are on the West side of Hwy 550 just north of Durango. Took this picture from about a mile away, so I'm guessing these are pretty long.

Many a hardman has salivated over these gorgeous flows in Junction Creek. Unfortunatley, they are off limits due to the "Durango Archeological Area" home to Ester's Cave. Many good rock lines reside in the same general area.

Boulder Canyon ice - not in.

Addendum: as of 1/20/11, the upper falls has some thin ice (on 2 lines), but there is no water flowing! So, it won't heal/grow as is.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
