Alpine Rescue Team will be having their 20th annual benefit at the Little Bear in Evergreen, CO.

It's a great time on a Thursday eve with all kinds of ways to help a good group of people that help others in the mountains that just had a bad day.

(for some reason the flyer pic doesn't work with my Exploder. I have yet to figure out why some pics don't show on this type of browser. Mozilla should be fine. Let me know, I'll try see if I can reformat something, or if it's all good.)

While I would love to be there (I live just up the hill from Das Bear and could readily stumble home) I'll be just wrapping up a llama trek in the Escalante Wilderness.

I'll spread the word, though! A not-to-be-missed event!

I'll try to make it.

ART just passed all five disciplines of their Mountain Rescue Association, Rocky Mountain Region this past weekend. A fully accredited, competent and high motivated team of 100% volunteers. Ready to come to the aid of you and yours, day or night.

Rocky MRA has the toughest standards in the MRA for accreditation.

Mark - why not also post this as an event on the event calendar?

Also, for those folks like me who can't make it, additional information regarding donations would be a benefit.

Awesome ideas! There's a donate section on the team site.

As far as the calendar, I'm not an admin, though I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

[post-edit] Martha -- It's cool.

Good to see the team is getting some well deserved admiration and support from the community at a time when making ends meet can be hard to come by.

Mark - I hope you don't mind - but I stuck my nose in and posted your event. I think it deserves calendar attention.

Band will be Smokin' Joe Kubek & Bnois Kin

Dinner with the ticket.

Raffle stuff, door prizes, silent auction (yes, climber gear -- new stuff, too).

Sweetness, tomorrow; there's stuff!!

One really cool item is that reflective tent guy lines (if you ever took a drunk-piss at night, yes, this stuff works).

Plenty of rope to tie up the old lady and... go bouldering. Loveland skiing 1 season's pass and a few days at Monarch, some cool vacation stuff, a sweet bike, gear, outdoorsy stuff, artwork, clothing, gift certs to just about everywhere, it's huge list.

First 5 climbers in the door gets to buy me a beer!

6-8p is the auction; then it keeps going, dinner, raffle stuff, band, and more beer.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
