I think I already know the answer, but has anyone successfully gotten cell phone reception at the City of Rocks?

It seems to have gotten better in the last couple of years. I used to be able to call from on top of the Breadloaves only, or something similar. Last Oct. I got calls from our camp, approx. Site 22 or thereabouts, Ctr. City. Not bad.

I've found a spot or two that sorta works. One is just past the pavement out of Almo on the way to the City. The other was by Durfee Hot Springs. Very poor service, though. Verizon.

I have Verizon and have had decent success making calls from the Parking Lot on the North side of the visitor's center.

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately for me I have T-mobile, which gets significantly poorer reception than Verizon in the Cottonwood canyons and other Utah climbing areas. I probably shouldn't count on being connected while at the City.

There is always service on the top of bath rock by the pool of water. Not bad service, either. But it's pretty much the only place you can count on consistent service...

Can anyone comment on updated cell coverage at any of the camp sites in city of rocks, verizon or at&t? Planning a trip and we need a signal to get some work done and would not want to leave the park. my friend has site 54, is there any coverage around there?
thanks

thanks Brandon, though I am interested in any campsites that have a signal so we can work at camp. Good to know though!

In the park you can get spotty reception with at&t near campsites 25-35. It doesnt seem to be consistent. At&t will be solid on BLM land, smoky mountain campground, lodge, bunkhouse, yurt and any private spot in almo valley. Verizon is garbage.

I get Verizon reception from the meadow at Site 52. Head up to the picnic table near the old corral. Site is often vacant so you might be able to walk down from 54 and use 52 as your coffee shop.

We had service at 38, walking up/out on the slab in camp. Service up at twin sisters, but you may as well go into Almo.
