There are some wicked granite outcrops on Forest Service land (i.e. no access problems) just east of Mountain, WI that I have been developing. I need a partner to help develop some of these routes, trade-off spotting, etc. Looking for mostly weekends until the end of the semester (mid-May) then I have the summer mostly open. Drop me a line if interested.
I might be going up to that area to visit some family in about a month or so. I've been meaning to check out the rocks in that area and will be bringing a pad. I'll post again when I have more specifics on the date.
I have a cabin not to far from mountain and would be interested in checkin it out sometime. Do you have an idea of what grade these problems are or any pictures?
There is now a link to the area in the Wisconsin climbs section of the site. There is a huge range out here - everything from V0 - V7 and up. Its all red granite. Lots of crimps, slopers and cracks. Most of it is pretty short - in the 10-12 ft. range with isolated spots that lie in the 15-20ft range. Let me know when you are out there and I can point you to the good spots.
Let me know when your in the area I'd definately like to check out some of these climbs. I'm free most weekends. Just send me a PM or a message on this site and we can set something up.
