What a retarded thing to steal in this day and age of cops with laptop computers. Did the idiot really think he could drive on your plates? I hope he tries to.

I have long thought that it would be nice for someone to go up Old Stage with a sniper rifle. You could set up some nice bait and nail these bastards. I was on St. Peters dome last year and was walking out in the dark, all I could think about was what my truck was going to look like by the time I got to it, luckily I got there just before some hilly billys came up the hill doing donuts, I am sure they were up to no good. What time of day was it when your stuff got taken?

Growing up back East plates would get stolen all the time to put on stolen cars, but like you said there isn't much point in today's computer age.

You can replace the standard phillips or flat screws that attach the plates with star drive screws (Lowes has 'em). This will shut down most folks with a one screwdriver tool kit.

Or, they'll just do as they did to mine, and rip them off. That'll crack your bumper. Not cool. + for sniper rifle. evan

I knew a guy who knew a guy who was trying to collect (steal) plates from all 50 states. People might do the same for funny vanity plates. Then there's just straight up vandalism for no reason. Other than that, I can't understand why someone would steal them, and certainly can't picture someone using them.
