Due to a generous gift from ACE, Eldorado Canyon State Park will hire a trail crew this fall.
The crew will build stone steps on the Shirttail Peak approach trail.
Trail experience is mandatory. Rock work experience is strongly desired.
The crew will work for the months of October and November - but if there is significant snowfall, the contract will be shortened.
There is a two-mile steep uphill hike to the work site. The crew will be lifting and moving very heavy rocks. Physical fitness, safety awareness, and good communication skills are mandatory.
The pay range is from 9.52 to 10.02 per hour.
Applicants must submit this application on or before Friday, September 11th. Hiring decisions will be made by September 17th.
If you have any questions, or would like to submit an application, please contact me.

Mike - great to hear you guys are getting so much assistance. Thank you for your efforts!
Regarding shortcutting - part of the trail building challenge - and I am sure you are aware of this - is climbers losing the trail and accidentally "shortcutting". This is a big problem low on Redgarden Wall - I have seen numerous people get lost in there - they end up going up scree filled gullies - instead of following the nice trail you guys reconstructed many years ago.
