I'm looking for partners to climb with in the greater Tucson area, my home town. I've got tons of experience and can probably regale you with old climbing stories if you get me buzzed enough :) Trad/sport, I like 'em both, but to be honest I do prefer the longer trad routes, especially with run outs, they focus the mind! Email me if you are interested in some weekend warrior adventure! Fred PS, if you are a college student I'll provide the ride and gas. My little payback...

Hi Fred, I'm looking for partners too, I'm new to Tucson, from the UK, climbed mostly trad up to about 5.9 when I'm fit. Now at about 5.8, I've been eyeing those longer trad routes up at the top of Lemmon. I'm away till the end of June but am around all the time after that and have a very flexible schedule. Fred, I'd love to get into some longer routes. I lead 5.9 sport, with a few 5.10s thrown in lately. I don't lead on gear, but I'll gladly follow, and I'm available most weekends. Brigette

Fred, I thought your pitch was great, and I'm not even a college student. Will you move to Colorado?

Dear Fred, I live in Tucson, am retired (early) and need a partner. All the other partners were lost in falls (just kidding). Seriously, one moved to Tahoe, the other is in Tanzania for the summer. I have a ranch at the Western Stronghold, and I brew my own beer. Have the car and all the gear. Anybody out there is welcome to make contact and go climbing. Hi Robert, I've lost a partner or two myself, but fortunately not while climbing! I've climbed a fair bunch at the Stronghold. It's starting to get a little warm there now. I look forward to climbing a route with you soon. Fred 520-481-6306

Fred, I just moved to tucson and am looking for partners. I lead .10a ish sport and trad and prefer long trad routes. I will hopefully be free to climb most weekends. I like the sound of your car offer since I (a poor grad student) have no car. I would definitely pitch in for gas though. Cheers, Ryan ryan.j.leary@gmail.com

Hey Ryan, Sent you an email but I see gmail went down, maybe you didn't get it. Let's do some climbing soon. The top of Lemmon is really nice these hot Tucson days. I may push you a bit to try 10+/11- if you don't mind. Fred

Hey Fred, Sounds like you already found a million partners... but if you want one more, I also love long beautiful trad lines, and to be honest, runouts on hard lines freak me out but on easier lines I like! Let me know if you are free perhaps the weekend of October 24th and beyond! -Colin

Hi Colin, Not quite a million, a few magnitudes or order less, but cool people all the same. I can climb that weekend. Give me a call. Fred 520-481-6306
