Regarding the large list of routes in the Nears and Trapps

Would it be possible to allow GPS coordinates for individual routes? There is a tool like this for identifying areas. There is a map page for each area containing other areas that looks like this. It would be relatively easy to plug in all this data after a quick walk down the two cliff bands with a guide and a GPS device. I'm up in the area for the next few months on paternity leave and would volunteer to do this if someone wants to loan me a GPS device, alternately I could use my iPhone, but I don't think that the locations are particularly accurate.

Would it be possible to get someone to extend the site to do this?

BTW: I'm still planning on posting the bouldering in separate areas. As suggested over here. Maybe with this change it would be more reasonable to just include them in the general Trapps, Nears and Peterskill areas?

I'm sure it's possble, but the routes at traps are very closed together, I'm not sure the GPS will be that accurate. If anything, taking pictures of the start of each route would be more helpful.

one thing that ron olsen (i think) did for the boulder canyon area was to list them in left to right order on the area page, with links to the routes. very handy, and probably not too difficult to do.

You can also thank Leo Paik for doing this for many crags in the Boulder area.

I plan to do this for the Trapps and the Nears, using the numbering scheme in Dick Williams' latest guide books. But I'm pretty busy right now, and won't get around to it until some time this fall. Other Gunks admins are welcome to step in and do this if they have the time.
