oh yea man, I hacked my way up to the top of the base of the Desi and dynoed for the upper portion it was so sick I had to call a doctor lol.

No we just walked by the ampetheatre but ended up climbing by the Spiral stair case area. I tried my hand at the Pencil but could not send.

I will go ahead and use Seth's thread to post the trip report for you ice junkies.

Conditions in the amphitheatre.

The fang fell down this last week. It is now NO where close to touching. PRobably broke up about 3/4 of the way up so there is a solid 35-40 ft gap between the cone and then top.
THe designator was about 4 or 5 ft from touching down AGAIN but was not in great shape. I'd say at least a couple weeks depending on this new weather and what not. THe only ice that is in there is the 7th tentacle. the Thang was super super thing. There is NO ice on any of the mixed climbs. IE. AMphibian, fatman and robin. All dry.
It is a dry toolers playground up there right now.

Spiral Staircase area and the belfry.

Spiral is in but somewhat wet still. A bit hacked out as well. But climbable. Secret probation is in with a good spice in the middle to gain the ice from the bolts. The climb left of staircase is in as well that follows a small smear down low to a naturally protected crack. Not sure of that name.

Belfry cave, Pencil and eraser are both in. not huge but climable and safe. The middle pillar betweem the two has touched down but is thin down low. Could use some more time before its lead. The mixed climbs of course are still there. The only ones really safe to lead out to curtains would be Esmerelda. Misery has NO ice to come out on. QUasimodo and the route to the right could be climbed but the chandeliers are a bit brittle and small. More time. Other then that it was a dry tool fest.

Enjoy the beta.

Seth and I are planning to get back to vail tomorrow weather depending.
If someone would like to tag along I'd like to roll in a group of three. Let one of us know.
CHeers!
