For the last time, no you cannot rub it!

Rubbing the dome will not bring you luck, help you send, or increase your manliness.

True, when its freshly bladed its softer than a baby's ass. But unless your name is Suzanne or Chloe, not happening! You gotta drop this obsession, or zero in on Jeff Stucker (doesn't he owe you one anyway?).

Lets try to aim for Saturday then.

And where the hell did Hanson go? I get the out of office auto-reply w/ his e-mail.

And welcome Matt! I'd be more than happy to show you around sometime. I've got a buddy who is this close to sending Pay Homage, so we're in that neck of the woods frequently.

Old man Hanson is off until next week. We TRed some routes at the Zoids last weekend. Mike, I might call you later tonight.

Ok, I'm down clowns! Which day should we plan for and what should we bring? I'm gonna go ahead and volunteer for the position of whiner and/or complainer.

Looks like I can do Saturday. Is this happening?

Mike Lane · · AnCapistan · Joined Jan 2006 · Points: 880

Saturday it shall be. Jen Marten may have some brushes we can use. Also, she will let anyone without a parks pass park there if the y put a sign on the dashboard stating "graffiti clean up crew". How does 8:00 a.m. sound?

So far it sounds like Ryan, TR, Matt and myself. Any one else? Great shoulder and arm workout.

I'm in. Do I need to being jumars, ropes or anything like that?

Oh wait. . .if I'm TR you already counted me. :-)

Jumars would be great. I've got an old .11, there ought to be something on top to tie it off to. I asked, and no, she won't let me drill in a couple toprope anchors.

I might be able to make this, should know more in a day or two. I did a fair amount of climbing at the Wood earlier in the summer. Graffiti sucks. No shortage of beer cans and water bottles discarded all over the place too. I saw a whole pack of these characters in the Dungeon this year. Drinking beer and smoking dope. Fortunately they moved off when we started climbing.

Morning Sun Wall, 8:00 a.m. Saturday? Put me down as a maybe. If anyone wants to carpool we could meet somewhere too. I live near C470/Lucent.

Yeah, I'm in and I think I'm bringin Russ. I aint got no aiders, but I could probably bring a drill and a wire brush.

On a side note, Friday looks like a quintessential CWC climbing day.

Up against the South and West facing walls (the snaky areas during the warm months), 45 and calm is almost ideal. I'll be there with Chris Cavallarlo if anyone is interested.

This isn't exactly going to redline my funmeter, but I'm still heading down there at 8:00. The scramble to the top with 4-5" of snow ought to be a real treat.

I feel like a lamo... I just got online to see the clean-up was this morning at 8am. Not only that, I'm sure the snow made it really "fun."
Me thinks I'm going to have to buy some beer to make up for this great deception...

The arrow is gone. We all decided that scrambling up to the other stuff was not very wise in the snow. It didn't take all that much work, having a sprayer is pretty key.

Ryan and I decided the best plan now is to actually set up a day when we can rotate back and forth from brushing the crap off (which requires roping up to be safe) and climbing the adjacent routes. It'll be like fun only different!

Don't fret Matt, 4 guys for just that one arrow was like hunting prarie dogs with hand grenades. Weather permitting, lets shoot for next Saturday. Garrick - you got this ball rolling, can you make it?

Hey mike, thanks for leading the charge on this! Hopefully the next attack will see more success.

If anyone else plans to have a go at this crap, we found that wire brushes and a sprayer full of water 1orked well.

Maybe we'll be more effective at melting snow if we put the stinky terrorist to some good use. ;) Glad I could "help" today (term used losely).

If I had been able to rig up a pilot light we could have burned off that nasty green cloud like the refineries do. Thank God I was at the head of the line.

I'll admit, you 3 were pretty damn entertaining.

Sorry I missed out on the first cleanup, I've been in the flatlands of Chicago for the last week.
Saturday works for me. How about 08:00 at the parking lot (weather permitting).

I'm back. I was out of the picture with no access to email or MP.com
I'm only fifteen minutes away, though less than a mile as the crow flies. Y'all let me know when you're up to heading to Morning Sun Wall and I'll go. Have brush will travel.
Matt - Welcome to Castle Rock. What part of town do live in?
I'm up at Castlewood Ranch (southwest of Hwy 86 & Enderud).

phew~ that's a relief.... there was a HUGE void w/no warning

Yeah, that's right Kirra, I know the Colorado climbing community holds their breath waiting to see what the old over-the-hill-has-been has to say on any subject before they can offer their opinion.
I'm really happy that I have MP.com to perpetrate my ego stroking self aggrandizement via our little mutual admiration society.
These days it is great for me to be able to talk a good game in lieu of any perceived talent.
Next time I will provide several months warning prior to taking such an extended sabbatical. I will also designate a surrogate while I'm gone. From what I've been told, the local suicide hotlines were ringing off the hook due to my unannounced departure.
I greatly apologize for my oversight and I promise to never be so inconsiderate in the future.
