Oh? Check the threads...you'll find wisdom and its counterfeit on all manner of topics. University of Utah vs. University of Colorado might provoke a very lively and informative discussion.

Of course, if CU is your Colorado option, than living in Boulder skews all the commute calculations...

Colorado is awesome, but I've never been to Utah....

and on a side note, if you move to Denver we can get together and beat up Deaun, I hear he's weak.

Sorry, i didn't try to suggest that this site is not full of scholared gentlemen... I Hope I didn't offend anyone...
As far as med school in Colorado, I was under the impression it is located in downtown Denver..

I believe there is more quality climbing closer to school in SLC. Especially if you like granite and limestone. The desert is of course much closer for road trips. You do have to live with the temperature inversions and heavy air pollution in feburary though.

...I inferred you had some undergrad to finish. You can do that in Denver or Boulder.

The med school is in the Fitzimmons Campus about 15-20 minutes east of downtown and further away from all the climbing...

Zak, Air pollution ? I live in Phoenix, Arizona....
Your air in boulder is just "seasoned" compared to ours...

Does that mean tack on another 20 minutes to the hour drive from denver to boulder ?

nah- he's talking about the air in slc- it gets funky in the winter w/ an inversion that tends to trap all the crap down low- you can see it's yellow nastiness hovering over the valley when your up on the range.

only in the winter though.

Alas, yup. Maybe a tad less for the Boulder destinations because you can cut up to I-70, then over to I-270 west and connect with Hwy 36 to Boulder, but definitely some real minutes added.

EDIT: But unless you're in a traffic jam, Denver to Boulder is closer to 45 than an hour...

CPT.E, would you please elaborate on the air inversions ?

My morning commute from Boulder to Aurora is 45 minutes. When wet or snowy tack on 10-15 minutes. Once per year on average an accident shuts down the turnpike and then it takes quite a bit longer.

Central and North Denver neighborhoods (e.g. Park Hill, Congress Park, Mayfair) are conveniently placed between Aurora and Boulder.

What about the community ? I heard it can be somewhat clickish in boulder....
Also, how close is the closest bouldering from denver ? ( for quick burns..)

No problem. Just thought I'd put it out there. Good luck with your decision.

Hmmm... Not sure if I agree with those times. I live in Provo (45 min south of Salt Lake and that much closer to Joe's Valley and Moab) and going faster than the speed limit, it takes me 3 hours to get to Moab, and 2.5ish (I think...? I don't remember) to get to Joe's.

From say 6th and Broadway (middle of Denver):
Morrison - about 25 minutes
Flagstaff - about 45
Castlewood - about 45
3 Sisters - about an hour

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
