Had a great time last night at Ice Night. I would love to see more gyms put together something similar. Kudos to team Rock. The Beer at the end was a nice touch.

I agree. Lots of fun. Great people and fun indoor dry-tooling. Thanks to The Rock for acknowledging us ice and mixed climbers. Thanks to Mtn.Chalet, Petzl, and BD as well.

Thank you for all the positive feedback everyone. There is nothing better than seeing people enjoy the routes. I'm thinking we'll probably change out the dry tool routes every two months and have a mini-comp evening each time to "break them in". The current routes will stay up during the in-between, so if you have a route you wanted to keep working, or just want the preperation for ice season, come on down.

Definitely had a good time. Great routes and meeting some great people.

can't wait until the next Ice Night!

Anyone feel like getting some dry tool work in tonight/tommorrow night?

Is it possible to?

Mark,

I plan on climbing Wednesday night (as usual). I just bought some new tools so I'll definitely be playing around on the dry tool routes.

I'll be at the gym tonight as well, and up for some dry-tooling on Clay's new tools :)

I put in an order for more dry tool holds, but have not received them yet. As soon as they are in, I was planning on setting a bunch of new routes and calling people together for a night of friendly competition. I'll keep you posted.

We finally got the new dry tool holds in. We'll be trying to get some of the route setters together in the next week to reset a good number of routes. As soon as they're up we'll set up an informal gathering to try out the new routes, and finish up with some free beer and reminiscing over this years ice season.

Looks like Gerald got the link to directions posted in his reply. Let me know if you have any other questions. Hopefully I'll have a date for the gathering soon.

KIRRA,
I'm not that n'ice. I'll probably try to get the gym owners to pay for the beer :)

Here is the news!
We will be having the dry-tool/beer night next Sunday April 27th, from 6:00 to 10:00.
The cost will be $14 for the day pass, which will get you plenty of dry-tooling, free beer, and free pizza. As per our, "don't drink and belay" policy, beer will be available for those of age when they have had their fill of dry-tooling and are ready to kick back on the couch. It also makes our insurance company and lawyers less nervous.
Shoot a response to this thread if you plan on coming so we can plan accordingly.
See you all soon!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
