was up that way this weekend does any body know what is to the right of armatron , on the third pitch i saw some bolts on a big shiny glossy black arete edge, looks really slippery, and hard, anybody know this? LARRY? oh yeah, i was out of town for a while, how did the beer night go?
I put up a few routes to the left of Armatron and one route to the right this last summer. All my routes have NO BOLTS, however.
I have seen the arete that you are talking about. It would be an obvious finish to a route I did up there last summer. Requim for a Tadpole goes up a short face section and then up a decent crack up 3 pitches to just below the bolted arete. On the FA we opted to traverse left to a big chmney and then top out on some face moves with sparse gear. The arete does look nice but I would say it is 5.10 at most. The rock does look slick but the angle is such that it looks doable. I'll show you some interesting picks at the next beer night.
