Featured Trad, Sport, Bouldering, and other popular climbing routes and climbing areas Dover, Ohio.
Though all of these formations have seen multiple ascents through the years, formal documentation has not been maintained, chalk has gradually been replaced with dirt and moss, and the routes are ready to be discovered again. From the Upper parking lot off of Dundee Wilmot Rd, follow the gravel trail (Trail A) out of the parking area and through the field towards the woods. As you enter the woods, the trail dips down toward the creek and the top of Upper Dundee falls. Cross the creek above the falls and stay to the top left trail, following the stream from above. After a quick 2 minute walk, a gaze to the right, across the stream, will reveal the upper falls corner, a worthy stop to explore in low water conditions. Eventually Trail A will turn toward the left, straying from the edge, as the creek below flows away from you toward the marshland. Trail B will have signage straight ahead. At this point, numerous boulders will begin to populate the hillside to your right, the creek/marsh/railroad tracks visible from your vantage point. Drop down through the hillside depression…Railroad Vista Boulder 1 is on your right, another 10 boulders are found to the left. The two largest quality boulders are at the end of this hillside, before it wraps around to the left. Both are top accessible, one from Trail B, the second from ascending the low angled side. Travel time of 8 – 14 minutes dependent on boulder.
Much shadier than on the tracks for obvious reasons. Potential for some cool problems. Follow "trail" behind the Una Pierna boulder. This short walk will take you to a cluster of boulders.
First clean boulders on the right hand side of the railroad on the edge of the woods. Follow directions on the main Railroad page.
