Featured Trad, Sport, Bouldering, and other popular climbing routes and climbing areas Bucerías, Nayarit.
On the south side of Playa las Estacas at the Hyatt Ziva Resort is a short 40ish' cliff of fairly solid rock (granite?). I was surprised to find a number of bolted lines there, with at least 5 anchors at the top of the cliff. The hangers look fairly new although the bolts are showing definite signs of corrosion, particularly the bolts lower on the cliff or directly facing the water. It would be wise to supplement the climb with gear (plenty of crack options) and back up the anchors with trees at the top.Although I didn't have climbing gear with me to climb the routes, I wanted to add this for other MP users looking to get a little climbing in on their beach vacation and add the routes accordingly. Since I have no information on the FAs, if any routes are added, please add them as Unknown A, B, C etc unless you know the name of the actual climb. Routes on the left face all look to be ~5.10 or less, with at least two routes going through the roof likely 5.11 or harder. The far right side looks like it could have some easy gear climbs, although this may be on private property, with a pair of guard dogs spotted on the bluff above. This small crag sit directly on the water at the far south end of the private beach for Hyatt Ziva. I don't think it would be possible to access the climbs without being a guest of the resort, they have things pretty well locked down as an all inclusive. I did however ask a number of workers at the resort about it. Most were unaware there was a crag there, but all said if you seemed like you knew what you were doing, you would probably be left alone by the resort staff.
Moderate to intermediate routes. Nice, short, quality climbs, some with a view to the bay. The area has a potential for more than 30 routes; opened in Jan 2022 Entrance through "LAS CABAÑAS DEL TIO LALO". See Access details.
