Description
Area Three centers on one particularly easy to see feature: a short, semi-separate block/buttress which protrudes from the main cliff. The block/buttress is a separate piece of rock, but it is also an integral part of the cliff. It is perched on large rocks and also wedged and leaning into the mother stone behind. The top of this block/buttress is 40 feet above the ground. The rest of the Main Elsewhere cliff face is behind and above this block. Note how the bottom of the block makes a deep but not wide roof 12 feet above the ground.
Area Three is 40 feet wide at its base. Its right edge is unusual for the formation; it is defined by a 30 foot wide gap in the cliff. The gap is choked with huge boulders. Moving up through this gap (if necessary) is complex-but-easy class five.
