Description
One of the larger boulders on the hillside. Landing is mostly flat but does slope away towards the right of the boulder, making the right side a little taller. Rock quality is pretty good with a nice mix of crimps, jugs, flat edges and xenoliths.
A good boulder for those who like climbs that are a bit on the tall side but not too difficult or those just looking to get into highball climbing. As you move right along the main face it either gets a little more difficult or more committing. I would recommend starting on the left and if you reach the limit of your comfort zone don't go any further right. All climbs are done ground up so I only clean what I can reach, unless there's something obvious on the way up that I can pull off. Use your best judgement and climb at your own risk.
Walk off the left or right depending on which side you top out. I made a good path along the left side of the boulder to walk down.
Getting There
Northwest of the Animal Bone Boulder with a few different ways to get there. If heading up to Animal Bone make a right and you can either go up by the Makaimura Boulder via a little rock scramble or go around the boulder to the right of Maikamura which now has a decent trail cleared. Alternative approach would be to go into the Trauma Zone area and traverse along the hillside. About 15 minute approach from the parking area.
