Description Suggest change

Gothic Buttress is a striking formation in the heart of Cathedral Park. The rock soars from the valley bottom as a long, continuous ridge. The climbing on the south end of the buttress is not to be missed.

Getting There Suggest change

See the GPX track. Enjoyable approach on an old trail 95% of the way. It is ~0.7 miles with a minimal amount of elevation gain.

To approach the climbs on the south end of Gothic Buttress (Cathedrals of Our Own), park at the main Clyde Campground Forest Service parking area here at GPS coordinates: 38.73406, -105.02217. Walk northwest along an old trail marked with yellow painted blazes on trees. Follow the trail past Squire Gulch and to the aspen camping spot located here at GPS coordinates: 38.73855, -105.02941. From this old camp spot, head northeast up the gully zig-zagging to avoid any brush. From here, you will see the beginning of the P1 approach pitch (see the photo).
