Description Suggest change

The prominent buttress just East of Mammoth Peak 'Alcove.' Excellent crack and slab climbing in an alpine environment. An old anchor was found, ostensibly from former NPS employees. Roughly at 10,000' and North facing, the buttress is generally in the shade in the mid-day/early afternoon (earlier in shoulder seasons) and can get quite cold! Early season snow can stick around at the base well into the summer after a regular winter. There are currently two known routes on the formation.

Getting There Suggest change

Approach as for Mammoth Peak 'Alcove' and skirt the base further to the East until reaching a prominent buttress with some cracks and the start of a mixed line at the base. Approach time approx. 50 minutes to one hour.
