Access Issue: Red Rock RAIN AND WET ROCK: The sandstone is fragile and is very easily damaged when wet.
Details
Holds rip off and climbs have been and will continue to be permanently damaged due to climbers not respecting this phenomenon. After a heavy storm, the rock will remain wet, sometimes for several days. PLEASE DO NOT CLIMB IN RED ROCKS during or after rain. A good rule of thumb is that if the ground near your climb is at all damp (and not powdery dry sand), then do not climb. There are many alternatives (limestone, granite, basalt, and plastic) nearby.
HUMAN WASTE Human waste is one of the major issues plaguing Red Rocks. The Las Vegas Climbers Liaison Council and the AAC provides free "wag bags" in several locations (Black Velvet, First Pullout, Kraft Mtn/Bouldering, The Gallery, and The Black Corridor). These bags are designed so that you can pack your waste out - consider bringing one to be part of your kit (just like your rope and shoes and lunch) no matter where you go. Once used, please dispose of them properly (do not throw them in the toilets at the parking area).

Getting There
This boulder is best approached by from a parking area a bit North of the canyon (36.0085793,-115.4535208)
There’s basically no trail for the first half of the hike. And it is easiest to approach by hiking north around 2 large clusters of trees and then snaking down along the base of the ridge leading up to the cliff faces. (Use topo photo in the main area as a reference)
As you’re going around the second cluster, you’ll start to see some social trails that come and go, take them when you see them and you’ll wrap around the second tier of a couple bands that start to rise up before you actually hit the cliffs.
There should be some actual cairns and a real trail that appears as you hook right, before the wash of the canyon. You don’t actually drop into the canyon till you hit the boulders.
The first boulder you’ll hit on this route is The Totem (which can be seen from the parking lot as a large fin sticking out of the right hillside).
