Access Issue: State of Illinois Land and Water Reserve (LWR) Details

Bouldering on the State of Illinois Clover LWR is an allowable use but only in certain areas. This was made possible through positive relationships between State of Illinois biologists and climbers. This area is managed cooperatively by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and the Illinois Nature Preserves Commission ( dnr.illinois.gov/inpc.html). The land is encumbered by a conservation easement. Natural resources on site are protected by law. Restoration activities occur regularly including prescribed burns, tree thinning, and exotic species treatment. Please respect sudden closures during prescribed fire activities. Be aware of hunting regulations and dates.

Description

Scattered boulders on state property that is encumbered by a conservation easement. Climbing and public access are NOT allowed in the northwest 10 acres in the sinkholes.

Bouldering is an allowable use within the conservation easement.

Getting There

These boulders are at the top of the hill, to the east of the Hillside boulders.
