Log Jam Climbing

If you have the Yukon Ice guidebook...don't even bother with it. It is completely incorrect, it will have you parking at the wrong spot and bushwhacking through deep snow near the trailhead for the route up to the main summit of White. For the actual parking, drive PAST the roadside crag (if coming from Whitehorse) and turn into the first driveway on the left (approximate location here: 60.27029, -133.94381). In the summer this is a dirt road that leads to a larger parking lot further down but in the winter will be cleared just enough to park off the highway. Follow the road down and right until you get to the larger lot, here you will see a cliffband through the trees. There should be a cleared path toward this cliffband. Once you hit the cliffband, contour it heading lookers left (right shoulder to the wall), eventually curving right and uphill until you see the main gully known as Log Jam.

If you want to access the routes for top rope, go back out to the main lot and head up the slopes to the right, following the edge of the cliff until you find the tree with webbing that marks the top rope anchor for the main line. You should NOT rely on old webbing as your main anchor, bring cord or webbing to wrap around the tree. If you decide you want to rap at the end of the day instead of walk off, bring some extra webbing and a quicklink, cut the old stuff off to throw out, and leave yours there.
