Description Suggest change

This small crag is a bit of a gem in our view, with the central part of the crag featuring several nice routes. The majority (but not all!) of the rock here is better than most lower mountain crags. The rock is compact, mostly solid, well featured and makes for fun climbing. The routes range from 5.7 to upper 5.10. All routes are bolted with quick lower anchors. The crag sits just below and slightly left of the Wall of the Flying Scorpions. The wall faces west and is shady until 1230 or 1 pm. A large oak tree at the base provides a nice hang and keeps much of the base in shade or filtered shade all day. This crag sits directly across the canyon from Crags Against Humanity. Alas, it is also directly across the canyon from the shooting range on the highway.

Getting There Suggest change

Approach from the Molino Vista parking area, as for Wall of the Flying Scorpions and Train Station. After about 15 minutes of hiking towards Wall of the Flying Scorpions the trail passes a large barrel cactus on your right and you come to an obvious fork in the trail (usually marked with a cairn and a little sign). Take the right (lower) fork, and continue traversing for a few minutes on the path to the base of the crag (the left fork continues up and left to Flying Scorpions and Train Station). Expect about 20 minutes to get to the base.

NOTE: During periods of high water this crag may be difficult to access.
