Description
This is a small crag in Grand County outside of Tabernash. Currently there are only 3 routes and potential for a few more. The crag is only about 35 feet tall. The wall faces East/Southeast. It gets plenty of morning and afternoon sun. Also it is possible to climb here in the winter.
Getting There
Take US Highway 40 to Tabernash - this is the same turn as Trail Creek or Hurd Creek:
- turn on County Road 83,
- turn left on USFS 129, don't go toward Devil's Thumb Ranch,
- turn left on County Road 84 heading towards Meadow Creek Reservoir,
- the crag parking will be on the left side of the road about a 1/2 mile before the High Lonesome Trailhead.
- The crag is about 4 miles from US Highway 40.
- As of 4/29/2025, the trail have not been cleared 100%, all of the down trees are cut, making the approach less than 10 minutes now.
- There are 2 rock formations on the hillside. You are heading the the right less prominent rock with the massive pine tree, the tallest tree on the hillside.
- The approach is about 0.15 miles and climbs 250 vertical feet.
