Colossal Boulder Climbing

This is it - the big one. Not only is this boulder the highest currently established in Chaos Canyon, but it’s also the largest freestanding boulder in RMNP. Some might argue that it’s not even a boulder, just a broken off cliff. Currently it hosts a few hard lines on the uphill cave, with potential for more.

EDIT: as of June 29, 2022, all established climbing on this boulder and near it have been completely destroyed by a significant geological movement on Hallett Peak. While I was up at Pinata last year, I speculated about the loose scree above the boulder. Well, my speculations were not incorrect, and the ENTIRE mountain unleashed a multi-million ton landslide onto this area. Climbers were running for their lives, but nobody was hurt. Please be careful walking around up here for a while. The movement likely registered on nearby seismic monitor.
