Description

The "Cimone" area is a prominent free standing tower connected to the "Vegetarier Wand" by the "Cimone saddle." There are climbs of all difficulties and all exposures, making this an excelent area for year round climbing, though the sunny SW climbs are most popular.

Getting There

The approach is identical to that for "Vegetarier Wand." From the Holzschlag parking lot, continue on the road for ~100m until it turns right towards some houses. Here, turn left and follow a path along side a pasture and fence. Don't continue straight or you will end up on the "Erlebnisweg Peilstein." After a few minutes, you will come to an info board with signs leading to the Peilsteinhaus. From here, take a (now marked with white spray paint) climbers trail to the right. Continue on this trail for approximately 10 minutes until you see a sign for the"Wandfußsteig." Follow this up to the wall and then head right along the wall until you reach the "Cimone saddle" and the routes on the NE side of the tower. For routes on the NW and SW side, continue backwards briefly on the "Wandfußsteig" until you see a faint trail branching to the left towards the bottom of the tower.
