Description Suggest change

Rocky Neck State Park in East Lyme is better known for its beach than its boulders. However, the actual Rocky Neck is a rock peninsula where a fair amount of granitic gneiss makes for a few nice boulder problems. There are interesting geological features, a couple steep walls, and some low ball problems, sights to see.

Within the forest north of the peninsula is Baker's Cave, which is probably too low to be climbed and part of a small north-south trending rock ridge.

The boulders are on the west side of the park where it doesn't get crowded away from the beach but the park does reach full capacity in the summer and on weekends especially. There is also a parking fee for out of state license plates.
