Description
Getting There
From the Washington State established parking lot (State Discovery Pass Required or risk a ticket) take the well used road heading downhill (north by northwest direction) toward the Spokane River spot where people like to cliff jump and swim (the area adjacent to Hummel's Landing). Approximately 300 yards or so down the road from the parking lot one will see a distinct rock buttress on the right less than a hundred feet or so off the road--easily seen through the thin stand of trees. The buttress is distinctly distinguishable by an obvious hand and first crack through the roof on the left side of the buttress. This buttress is hard to miss since to its left and right are simply broken rock and trees. The top of the buttress is easily accessible by hiking around to its backside on either the left or right sides. If you reach the point where the road forks left and right then you have gone too far and missed the buttress. Retrace your steps uphill a hundred feet or so until you are adjacent to the buttress. There is the potential for several move crack and face climbs on this buttress.
