Description Suggest change

The boulder field at the base of Mount Roothan containing lots of spectacular crack and slab problems. A great way to end the day and the area has a creek perfect for a water refill before the hike out.

Getting There Suggest change

Same as approach to Chimney Rock via Mt. Roothan trail. Follow the main trail on the NE side for roughly 1.8 miles. At the second larger fire pit follow cairns along the distinct climbers trail that descents into the basin and leads towards chimney rock to the NE.You will see an obvious boulder field with a large off width chimney to the right if you are facing Chimney Rock.
