Description
Overlooking Slide Lake, Wild West Wall has some of the most diverse and extreme features of any climbing area in Jackson Hole. Composed of sedimentary rock, the wall has shed many large chunks, leaving numerous huge roofs, fins, and dihedrals, as well as innumerable classic trad cracks. The area is largely undeveloped (though I have seen one piece of webbing on a tree at the top) and could benefit from cleaning, so be careful of pulling out loose blocks. Also give wildlife space--I've seen bighorn sheep hanging out near the cliff and a large bird nest in a cleft.
